Alan Kuntz Alan Robert "Sloppy" Kuntz (b. June 4, 1919 in Toronto, Ontario - d. March 7, 1987) was a professional ice hockey player who played 45 games in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played with the New York Rangers. He was the father of former NHL player Murray Kuntz. As with baseballer Sloppy Thurston, his reputation for fastidiousness at training and high personal grooming standards led to him being nicknamed "Sloppy", an example of a nickname reflecting the opposite of a person's characteristics. ==External links==
